Salvatore Iovino Racing

Salvatore Iovino was born in Phoenix, AZ on July 15th, 1983. At an early age of just over one year, his family moved to southern California. Salvatore is the eldest of five children between his mother and biological father.

His mother, Debbie Key, married when he was three years old. Salvatore was raised by his mother and step father, who later, his step father adopted Salvatore.

As a child, Salvatore’s mother was in nursing school, and his stepfather attended the Los Angeles County Police Academy. Raising three children including Salvatore, as well as his younger siblings, Jason and Tina, was stressful, and the family struggled to make ends meet.

Growing up, Salvatore went through the Los Angeles County Unified School District. From an early age he became interested in playing sports including: soccer, basketball, baseball and football. He continued playing sports until his freshman year in high school. Salvatore struggled with home life, often being subject to verbal abuse from his stepfather, as well as bullying in school from gangs, which on several occasions Salvatore would return home from school injured from the local gang violence. He was victim of racial violence as he was once stabbed in the 6th grade. His mother and stepfather divorced during his freshman season, and Salvatore dropped out of high school after only completing the 9th grade.

At the age of 15, Salvatore met his biological father for the first time. Due to his father’s family history of drug abuse, they had no prior connection during his childhood. Against his mother’s interest, at the age of 16, Salvatore decided to move in with his biological father, who was recovering from drug addiction, and moved to Napa Valley in northern California. Salvatore picked up local jobs at fast food restaurants and began attending Napa Valley High School. He only attended school for a short time during his sophomore season, before dropping out once again due to absences caused by working part time jobs. During and prior to his fathers recovery, Salvatore struggled from not having a father figure in his teenage childhood.

At 18, Salvatore moved back to southern California and started working telemarketing jobs, which led him to a telecommunications company that was seeking young cell phone tower climbers. The position sought out employees that could travel the United States and work on long rotations in the field, usually several months at a time. He spent the next seven years traveling and living from hotel to hotel, climbing cell towers across the country during what was called the “tower boom” (the growth of cell phone coverage of 2G and 3G technologies).

In 2008, Salvatore took on a new position in the same industry that required less travel, but relocated permanently to the east coast. In 2013, with no prior business experience, he formed Integrated Tower Services. Within two years it became a multi-million dollar company, and he still operates the company to this day.
In 2012, Salvatore began local drag racing. Shortly after, he started competing in NHRA Pro Stock, Pro Dial, and Super Pro Street Class drag cars events. By 2015, he had won several 1st place championships across the country. He also competed in 1/2 mile airport runway races, where at the time, he set the record for the fastest modern Hemi vehicle to go in a 1/2 mile race at 174.4 MPH’s. He also competed in 1 mile airport runway events, where he is one of only less than 10 modern Hemi’s to ever go over 200 MPHs. He also holds the record for the fastest four door charger in a 1/4 mile race of 8.80@160 MPH’s

In 2016, Salvatore Iovino made the transition from professional NHRA drag racing to stock car racing. Prior to this, he had no experience in stock car’s, but was eager to learn. Salvatore spent six months racing in modified and late model car series, and was able to record three top ten finishes, his best finish being fifth place. He continued to dedicate time and training into stock racing, logging in thousands of laps at the track in practice sessions, and invested in a racing simulator. Midway through the NASCAR K&N Pro West Series he had an opportunity make his professional racing debut at Stateline Speedway. He completed the rest of season, finishing 18th out of 57 drivers in the NASCAR K&N Pro West Series, and despite having only competing in 7 of the 14 total races, he won NASCAR K&N Pro Series Most Popular Driver!

After completing the NASCAR K&N Pro Series season, Salvatore spent the winter in Las Vegas and Arizona competing in dirt modified racing, where he recorded a 2nd place finish and top 10 finishes. He spent the rest of the off season practicing on different dirt tracks on the west coast in preparation for the NASCAR 2017 season.
On February 19th, 2017, Salvatore Iovino made his racing debut in the NASCAR K&N Pro East Series at New Smyrna Speedway, finishing 17th out 27 cars. On March 18th, 2017 Salvatore will open up the NASCAR K&N Pro West Series at Tucson Speedway, where he will be competing the entire west series schedule, as well select east series races. Salvatore Iovino will be competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2018.

Salvatore, is very pro-active in social media and in the local communities, where he spends his free time speaking to youth about his early life struggles, the progress he has made in becoming an inspirational leader through social media, and how to carry a positive mind set on and off the track. Salvatore is driven through motivation and passion as he describes in his speeches to youth, and imposes on them that “Whatever your dream is, it can be done. No matter what race you are in, how good you are, the history what it is, if you truly want to accomplish something, you give it your full dedication and you will be able to break through any barriers that come along your way. Your dreams deserve you, and you deserve your dreams. You just have to make it happen through positivity, leadership and motivation. Building the knowledge at what it is you want to accomplish and use that knowledge for your motivation”

In 2017, Salvatore Iovino formed an additional telecommunications company called “Racing Wireless Telecom INC” and will be a full turnkey solutions company for the telecom industry. He also formed “Salvatore Iovino Racing INC” which will manage all racing activities and the sale of racing products

Salvatore is married to Melissa Iovino and together they have four children and currently reside in Atlanta, GA
